Study Guides for Greek Patristics texts
Introduction
These are the Guides for Greek Patrisitic writings. These texts are generally used in Symposia and Conferences but may also be used in more advanced lessons.
Guide structure
Generally, each of these Guides contains the following:
- Introduction. A guide to the manuscripts in each of the languages, a short overview of the book and a bibliography
- The Greek text taken usually from Migne’s Patrologia Graecae
- The Latin text taken usually from Migne’s Patrologia Graecae
- Notes for the Greek text
- Notes for the Latin text
- Translation
- Commentary
- Critical Notes. These have been derived from:
- Migne Patrologia Graecae
- The Apostolic Fathers by Lightfoot and Kirsopp Lake
- Clemens Alexandrinus by Professor Staehlin
- Vocabularies:
- Greek – English
- Greek – Latin
- Latin – English
- Vocabulary of Proper Names and Places (where applicable)
