Introduction

These are the Guides for books of the Septuagint. These texts are generally used in Symposia and Conferences but may also be used in more advanced lessons.

Guide structure

Each of these guides contains the following:

  • Introduction. A guide to the manuscripts in each of four languages, a short overview of the book and a bibliography
  • The Hebrew text
  • The Greek text taken from the Septuagint
  • The Latin text taken from the Vulgate and the Vetus Latina
  • The Syriac text (in course of preparation)
  • Notes for the Hebrew text
  • Notes for the Greek text
  • Notes for the Latin text
  • Notes for the Syriac text
  • Translation
  • Commentary
  • Critical Notes for Greek, Latin and Syriac
  • Vocabularies:
