Study Guides for Latin Patristic texts
Introduction
These are the Guides for the Latin Patristic writings. These texts are generally used in Symposia and Conferences but may also be used in more advanced lessons.
Guide structure
Generally each of the Guides contains the following:
- Introduction. A guide to the manuscripts in Latin, a short overview of the book and a bibliography
- The Latin text taken usually from Migne’s Patrologia Latinae
- Notes for the Latin text
- Translation
- Commentary
- Notes for the Latin text
- Notes for the Syriac text
- Translation
- Commentary
- Critical Notes. These have been derived from:
- Migne Patrologia Latinae
- Vocabularies:
- Latin – English
- Vocabulary of Proper Names and Places (where applicable)
