Koine Greek

Welcome to New Testament Greek!

Introduction

The courses at Eroumen will help you understand the Greek of the Bible and the writings of the Patristics. The aim of the course is to enable you to read the original Greek and understand the sources of the Bible.

How is the course taught?

Teaching takes place in small groups. The courses here are available via Zoom lessons with accompanying teaching materials. Lessons are generally held in the evening or at weekends.

Do I need to be a linguist?

Don’t worry if you have never studied Greek before. Although at first it will be “all Greek” to you, the course takes you through the complexities of Greek grammar in as easy a manner as possible. You will be speaking and writing in Greek from the first lesson.

Do I need a Greek Bible?

Initially the course material will be sufficient. If you wish, you can purchase the Bible in Greek. Various editions are available and you will be given advice on recommended texts on the course. Online resources will also be recommended.

How do I start?

Classes are run for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced students. If you have no knowledge of Greek, start at the beginning! Contact the Course Director to find our more.
